Alabama Governor Kay Ivey issued a statewide mask order on Wednesday, July 15.
Starting Thursday, July 16 at 5 p.m. a face covering must be worn in public when in close contact with other people.
This includes all AmFirst branch locations.
Coverings may be fashioned from scarves, bandanas, or other suitable fabrics as long as it covers the mouth and nose of the wearer.
Alabamians must wear a mask when within 6 feet of a person from another household; in an indoor space open to the public; a vehicle operated by a transportation service such as Uber; or an outdoor public space where 10 or more people are gathered.
AL.com states the order remains in effect until further notice and supersedes any local regulations.
