The City of Gardendale is hosting its 20th Annual Magnolia Festival this weekend from Friday, April 16 to Saturday, April 17.
The annual Magnolia Festival is an award-winning, family-friendly event held at the Gardendale Civic Center complex.
Their mission is to provide visitors with an economical, family-friendly experience while promoting local businesses, tourism, local arts and culture, and volunteerism in the greater Gardendale area. The festival will have more than 150 vendors, 2 stages of live entertainment, a pooch parade, midway-style carnival, car show, free kid zone, petting zoo/pony rides and more!

Additionally, they are known for their high-quality food vendors, and Gardendale Magnolia Festival was featured on Cooking Channel’s Carnival Eats!
Each year, the festival awards at least 10 ($1,000) college scholarships to area high school seniors and supports local charities. Gardendale Magnolia Festival has also been named Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events, Birmingham Parent Magazine Family Favorite, and Alabama Tourism’s Top 10 Events for April-June (twice).

Volunteerism is highly promoted and rewarded at the Gardendale Magnolia Festival, and they believe in teaching children the importance of volunteering at an early age. The festival recognizes two Volunteers of the Year- one student and one adult.
