Until herd immunity is achieved, ADHP reminds us that masks remain one of the most successful tools to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) and Alabama Governor Kay Ivey continue to encourage the wearing of masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Alabama’s COVID-19 public health order ended Monday, May 31, and the state of emergency will end Tuesday, July 6. The statewide mask mandate expired on Friday, April 9, and the City of Birmingham’s extended mask mandate recently expired on Monday, May 24.
While the vaccination rates are steadily increasing every day, there is a large portion of our state population who are still waiting or have made the choice to not get vaccinated. Until herd immunity is achieved, ADHP reminds us that masks remain one of the most successful tools to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Because the safety of our employees and members is our top priority, AmFirst will continue to require our employees to wear a mask while at work, maintain 6 feet social distancing and keep every other teller window closed with plexiglass at the remaining windows and offices.
For those locations where the local government has extended the mandatory mask order, our mandate requiring a mask to enter our premises will remain in effect.
However, in locations with no mask mandate in place, we still encourage and request members to wear masks in our facilities.
