AmFirst is partnering up with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers this month to host a blood drive.
The drive will be held Friday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. outside of our Calera branch, located at 180 Highway 304 in Calera, AL.
LifeSouth is hoping to collect at least 12 units at the Blood Drive due to the community hospitals’ emergency need for blood. Units are taken to local hospitals, including Children’s of Alabama, Birmingham VA Medical Center, DCH, and Coosa Valley Medical Center.
Donors must be 16 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, and must show a photo I.D.
A written parental permission is required for 16-year-old donors.
All donors will receive a recognition item and free cholesterol screening as well.
